What is Analytical Exposition?
Exposition is a text that elaborates the writer‘s idea about the phenomenon surrounding. Its social function is to persuade the reader that the idea is important matter.
Generic Structure of Analytical Exposition
1. Thesis: Introducing the topic and indicating the writer’s position
2. Arguments: Explaining the arguments to support the writer’s position
3.Reiteration: Restating the writer’s position
The first paragraph usually called thesis, in this part, usually about the writer’s opinion about something. It also introduces topics and indicates the writer’s position. Then, the second part is argument. It consists of a point and elaboration sequence. Each points must be supported by facts and evidence so as the reader can be influenced with the arguments that the writer stated. The last part of the generic structure is reiteration. When we are sad or even when we are happy, we need a care from another. Because, we do not want to feel all alone, we certainly want to share what we feel. Can you imagine how hard if we have to go through all alone? In addition, love is a crucial need. Love can give us spirit for survive from our problems. We cannot life without love. If we do not have someone to be loved, automatically our life would feel empty. Love also encourages us to help others, keep us far from fear and insecurity. Furthermore, love is needed to live in society. Love can unite us and protect each other. Love makes us not to hurt other people. So, what would the world be like without love? It would be scary.
Analytical exposition text has a communicative purpose just like any other text.
